Never too late..

Nobody ever knew it, but I think my mom is the ultimate job hopper!! Hahaha these few years when she got retrenched from her previous factory job, she has tried as many jobs as anyone could ever handle! I'm quite amazed how far she had gone. Yes, she's one gutsy lady (not aunt!). She used to be a medicine dispenser at a clinic in her younger days, hence she always knew every tablet I got whenever I visit the doctor.

"Orhh this one ar ... not very good for flu one, next time should ask for those white big ones", she would say when I visit the doctor for flu haha. After that, she worked at Seagate through my primary and secondary school period. After she got retrenched, she stayed at home for awhile but soon got bored, guess she didn't like the taitai lifestyle huh haha! Once a workaholic, always will be. From there, she tried many jobs; Macdonalds, guardian saleswoman, hawker attendant, mass-laundry worker , Childcare cook, Lifestyle saleswoman, bubble tea seller (Yes!), Bedok Fashion saleswoman (LOL) and many many more.

It's really fun, I guess for her to try out so many things, it beats staying at home watching some Korean drama hah! You are never too old to try anything new I guess, sometimes you never know what's really suitable for you until you try it. Against all judgments, my mum tried as many different tasks as she could handle. The most recent job offer I heard from her was some flower pot changer in a hospital. However, the twist is that she might have to push bodies to the mortuary!! That really stopped her from working haha! Orh wells.... You just gotta keep trying ;) Love you lots mum!

Too little, Too late, Too much

One's Black and the white,
filled with genuine and natured feels,
the other a ball of mysterious dimensions,
Each a step further from one another,
One gets warm and beautiful dreamy surrealism,
the other tunnels through the dark side of man-kind,
When combined together,
the ultimate mix of cocktail with punch,
You can never have both though,
cause its like durians with beer,
you die from anxiety,
the beautiful homogeneous concoction.

Dig deeper

"I'm reading a book about Chinese medicine, which claims that people are inherently bisexual to balance their energies. And, in a way, that makes so much sense. As humans we have both male and female energies. I believe in Kurt Cobain's statement that, in the end, everyone is gay. Everybody should have the freedom to experiment. I believe sexual experimentation is part of human history."

Cook, flavor and dice

It's Saturday and what do you do? Shop? Chill? Swim? Well I cooked. Yuppie, I did chicken rice on a Saturday afternoon. Bought those ready to cook food package from the mart and all you need is just chicken, rice and water. Here's goes...

Yup. That is the contents and it looks suspiciously like combat rations!(Thankfully, they are nothing like it!"

That's the plain raw chicken that I'm planning to turn into a gorgeous Hainanese Chicken ahha!

Cooling the chicken after cooking it in chicken stock....

Now! For the rice. Gonna cook the rice using the chicken stock and some other ingredients.... Looks yummy already!

Laying the plate with cucumbers....

It looks almost like the chicken rice I eat outside... Haven't try it though, but smells really good ;P

The rice smelled really fragrant..... droolss.... gonna dig in!

Da da~~ OK my camera phone is not doing justice to the plate... it was YUMMY... for a first timer haha. Any takers??

Why ?

While having a break from teaching the kids, I took out my usual bottle of honey water(which I totally swear by, its soo good for your throat.. all purposes!) to sip and relax. One of the kiddo came forward and asked me,

"Teacher, why you always drink urine one??"

I gagged and remained speechless.... another priceless moment....

I will remember

Knowing how you make me laugh,
Tell me what's happening,
Saying what I don't want to hear,
Time past yet it still felt so frozen,
The feeling's still so strong,
Maybe I just don't know what's right,
Thinking you would be sure,
But at the end of my life,
Falling back on my life,
At least I went after what I wanted,
At least I knew it was good,
Even though I never really got it,
But it doesn't matter anymore,
So I guess I should thank you,
Thank you very much.

The last parade in national Stadium

Yep.. The National Stadium is gonna be doing some face-lift hence this year's NDP was supposed to be special and the last. Haha.. I didn't even know that people wanna actually go watch. Orh well I did, thanks to nice friend who gave me a ticket.

These 2 fellows are actually Gurmit and Michelle Chia, doing some flying fox.

The typical airborne dudes.

I have been to the stadium a few occasions, from watching Chang HuiMei's concert (HAhA yes!!) back in Secondary sch with, of all people, a Canadian friend who knew nuts about Chinese but likes Ah Mei, to watching Ms Mariah Carey!!! (WOOHOO Roll ya eyes u haters, im like wadever!). Actually let me tell u a secret. In secondary sch I actually stood at the freaking parade as one of the Boys' Bridage Contingent!! Hahah! I know!! My dark glorious past.

Realized quite a few of my friends actually went for the parade too. One of the people I used to date even saw me. So pei seh.. cause I unknowingly wore red!!! and everyone were too.. and I'm not being or thinking patriotic even! I actually went to the parade with this nice fellow(kelvin), who provided me with the valued tix hehe. Sadly, during the show, we sat behind this group of old gays. Not that I have anything against them.. but they were so aunt that they were auntier than any other aunties!!! They poked around with their stupid umbrellas while real aunts weren't even opening them. They packed massive dinner (nasi padang, tons of tibits, drinks) as if it was a grand picnic. But ultimately, they were quite sick le, eyeing every little boy they could rain their eyes on !EWW gross!

The killer part was leaving the stupid stadium. Can't they just open more exits and not make us squeeze with overly-eagered aunts??!! In the end the massive flood of human traffic made us think twice about taking public transport, hence we actually walked to Suntec(working my buns again) for dinner laters.

We are proud!

I don't know what got into me this week. It was like a "Love Singapore" campaign this week. First I headed to Ubin with some of my best pals for a nice leisurely cycle (which in fact, totally wasn't!). The next day, I went to the National Day Parade rehearsals! WooHoo!

My dear friend Jassie came back from Aussie for a break, hence we decided to do something nice and memorable, maybe a trip to Ubin (LOL!). Boy, I guess it was memorable, since jassie here can't really cycle and we all seemed like lost city kids! All the sweat, grease, and mosquito bites seemed like a boot camp, not to me le, but to the 2 girls!! HAha! I can still remember how Fai here was excited at first but at the end of the trip, she looked the PMS part. But at least we worked our buns of steel!! HEhe Work it!

All smiles!!

Dear jassie, no more bikes for u! Haha

Yep ... Through the heat and all we could managed a smile or 2.

Next time, rental of newer bikes are a must, coz gears on older ones doesnt work!! The moment came when a nice foreign couple reminded us to use gears! Gosh!

Hehe.. We made it?

Papa Hazy and Mama Dory did Ubin!

Ulimately, what's priceless was getting my 2 pals in Ubin!! Like totally!

Even though i believed we will never do it again, it was a nice well-spent time together, since jassie would be heading back Aussie soon. I would, never in a million years would think i will be cycling in Ubin of all places with these 2 chicks haha! Cheerios!

He's not that into you

Its a nice Wednesday morning and here I am watching Oprah. And today's topic was about knowing if the guy you are dating, or have been out with sometime, really wants you. The hints were everywhere, excuses were heard before... The clues have never been so exposed..

If he just smses you sweet-nothings, emails you about how gorgeous you are but never calls, he's not into you.
If he calls you constantly, be pleased that you are in his "Dream Team".
If he doesn't wanna ruin the friendship that you guys are having, you can totally trash it forever.
If he's dragging everything, he's probably having too many choices in his mind, kick him out!
Don't waste the pretty, if he doesn't move on, sue him.
It's a risk to date someone who rejected you, caused he has a motive or he just don't see you deeper than you want him to.
If you spend time waiting by the phone for someone and he doesn't delivers, you have indulge too much.

And orh, it applies to both sexes yea hehe... There's so much more.. maybe someone can donate some??

Laugh when your brain's still laughing with you

Eat my ass pie you shit head!
If I have a heart, I will let you eat it with ice-cream
When people talk, they talk. But when you talk, I smell vomit.
Some trash can be recycled, but if you were a trash, they did burn you, alive if possible.
Sometimes babies smile when we smile at them, well they will piss hard when they see you.
IN a hot weather and there's a shady corner, we did share it with strangers. If you enter, I did rather be scotched in the sun than stay with you.
If people says that you're cute, it's because they are really nice folks who can't say any foul words, trust me.

Alritey :) enough trash talking for today.
